This braided cable sleeve from Delock is made from special basalt fibers and is designed to protect sensitive cables, conduits, and wires in environments with extreme temperatures, high mechanical stress, and chemical influences. The sleeve combines very high temperature resistance with excellent tensile strength, elasticity, and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for heavy-duty industrial and electrotechnical applications. The braided structure is characterized by high flexibility and elasticity, protecting cables from mechanical shocks and high loads. The basalt fibers also offer excellent chemical resistance and are resistant to most acids and alkalis. This ensures reliable cable protection in demanding environments. This cable sleeve is primarily used in electrical engineering and machine installations. If necessary, the sleeve can be easily cut to size with scissors. Specifications • Application: cables, conduits, and wires • Construction: braided sleeve • Material: basalt fibers • Flexibility: high • Elasticity: high • Tensile strength: high • Impact resistance: high • Mechanical protection: yes • Chemical resistance: resistant to most acids and and alkalis • Cuttable: yes, with scissors • Operating temperature: -269 °C to +650 °C • Fire rating: 94V-0 Explanation of fire rating 94V-0 Fire rating 94V-0 indicates that the material is self-extinguishing very quickly in a vertical flame test and does not form burning drips. This is the highest classification within UL94 and indicates a high level of fire safety for critical applications. What are basalt fibers? Basalt fibers are made from natural volcanic rock and are known for their exceptional thermal stability. The material maintains its structure at extremely high and extremely low temperatures and is inherently non-flammable. In addition, basalt fibers offer very high tensile strength, corrosion resistance, and chemical resistance, without melting or decomposing when heated. Due to these properties, basalt fibers are used in situations where standard plastics, fiberglass, or polyester fall short. Applications • Electrical installations • Machine and equipment construction • Automation systems • Cable protection at extremely high or low temperatures • Environments with increased mechanical and chemical stress • Industrial applications where cables preferably do not develop lava ambitions Ask a question about the product
