Opis

Te nalepke za okna pomembno prispevajo k zaščiti ptic okoli hiše, saj preprečujejo trčenje z oknom. Ocenjuje se, da vsak dan v Evropi zaradi trka v okno umre 250.000 ljudi. Natančnega števila ni mogoče izračunati, saj večina ptic ne pogine takoj na kraju samem, ampak šele kasneje tiho podleže hudim notranjim poškodbam. Med gnezditveno sezono niso prizadete samo poškodovane živali, ampak tudi njihovi potomci, ki niso več hranjeni. Nevarnost za ptice so vse vrste steklenih površin od majhnih in velikih oken do vetrovnikov, steklenih kotičkov, zimskih vrtov, rastlinjakov, kolesarnic in mnogih drugih lokacij, kjer so vgrajena stekla ali ogledala. Steklo odseva okolico z modrino neba in vegetacijo vrta, tako da imajo ptice vtis, da se vrt nadaljuje. Velikosti ptic se gibljejo od 10 do 25 cm.
