Zahvaljujoč svoji naravni strukturi material absorbira več kot 7-kratnik lastne prostornine vlage, kar zagotavlja dolgotrajno zadrževanje vonjav in higiensko steljnik. Polnilo je obstojno do 4 do 6 tednov in je do 3-krat cenejše za uporabo od tradicionalnih polnil za mačje peske.
