USB Type-C™ to HDMI adapter – DisplayPort Alt Mode – HDMI™ 2.0 – 4K@60Hz This adapter is designed for connecting an HDMI monitor or projector to a computer with a USB Type-C™ port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode. The video signal is converted directly from the USB-C™ port to HDMI via DisplayPort Alt Mode. No graphics emulation, compression, or additional software is required. Host Port Requirements The USB Type-C™ port of the host device must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode. Use is also possible via Thunderbolt™ 3 and Thunderbolt™ 4 ports, as these can transmit DisplayPort signals via USB-C™. Without DisplayPort Alternate Mode, video output is not possible. USB Version USB 3.2 Gen 1×1. The USB connection is used for power and configuration; the video signal runs via DisplayPort Alt Mode and not via USB data transmission. Operation The DisplayPort signal from the host is routed via DisplayPort Alt Mode over the USB Type-C™ or Thunderbolt™ connection. The integrated Parade PS186 chipset converts this signal to HDMI™ in hardware.
