Questo film di Richard Linklater parla di due uomini che si incontrano dopo 10 anni in una stanza di motel a Lansing, nel Michigan. Vince (Ethan Hawke) e Jon (Sean Robert Leonard) erano migliori amici al liceo. Jon è un regista esordiente che è stato invitato a un festival cinematografico nella sua città natale.
