Seomra motel dingy, triúr aisteoirí den scoth agus script iontach. Seo iad comhábhair an dráma láidir TAPE. Baineann an scannán seo le Richard Linklater le beirt fhear a bhuaileann le chéile tar éis 10 mbliana i seomra motel i Lansing, Michigan. Ba chairde is fearr iad Vince (Ethan Hawke) agus Jon (Sean Robert Leonard) sa scoil ard. Is stiúrthóir tosaigh é Jon a fuair cuireadh chuig Féile Scannán ina bhaile dúchais. Tá baint ag Vince le gach cineál mangaireachta drugaí gruama agus ní dhearna sé a thuilleadh é ná obair dheonach a dhéanamh don bhriogáid dóiteáin. Tosaíonn an cruinniú go cairdiúil, ach tarlaíonn sé go luath go bhfuil clár oibre dúbailte ag Vince. Ba mhaith le Vince labhairt faoina gcara ardscoile frithpháirteach Amy (Uma Thurman). Déanann sé iarracht admháil a fháil ó Jon, rud a thaifeadann sé go rúnda ar téip. Tá Vince ag iarraidh ar Jon a admháil gur éignigh sé Amy le linn cóisir a d’éirigh as lámh a chéile. Chun rudaí a dhéanamh níos casta fós, thug Vince cuireadh do Amy freisin. Tá achrann á lorg ag Vince, ach is mór an t-iontas é an toradh dó freisin!
