Version 1.4a added Adaptive Sync, a technology that enables variable refresh rates and prevents tearing, particularly benefiting gamers via FreeSync or G-Sync. Possible conversion options / adapters DisplayPort → HDMI: possible via active or passive adapter (depending on version and direction). DisplayPort → DVI: only Single-Link DVI with passive adapters. For Dual-Link DVI, an active adapter is required. DisplayPort → VGA: only with an active adapter (digital to analog conversion).
