This is a DIGITUS Fast Ethernet network switch for use in a 19-inch server rack, equipped with 24 PoE network ports and a total Power over Ethernet budget of 370 W. The switch has 2 combined Gigabit uplink ports (RJ45/SFP) and is intended for fixed installation in network environments. This network switch is used to provide network devices such as IP cameras, access points, and VoIP devices with data and electrical power via a single Ethernet cable. The switch is unmanaged and operates without configuration. Mounting in a 19-inch rack is possible; placement outside a rack is also suitable. The switch supports Power over Ethernet according to IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at. The PoE functionality provides DC voltage via the Ethernet cable according to Mode A. The store-and-forward switching method and non-blocking forwarding are intended to fully check data packets before they are forwarded. The PD-Alive function is intended to monitor connected PoE devices and automatically reactivate them when no network response is detected. Specifications • Brand: DIGITUS • Switch type: Fast Ethernet • Management: unmanaged • Number of ports: 24x 10/100Base-TX with PoE • Uplink connection: 2x Combo Gigabit RJ45 / SFP • Ethernet standards: IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3z, IEEE 802.3x • PoE standard: IEEE 802.3af / IEEE 802.3at • Max. PoE power per port: 30 W • Total PoE budget: 370 W • PoE output voltage: 55 V DC • PoE power mode: Mode A (pins 1/2 +, 3/6 -) • Switching method: store-and-forward • Forwarding: non-blocking, non-head-of-line • Auto-negotiation: speed and half/full duplex • Auto MDI/MDI-X: yes • MAC address table: 16K • VLAN support: yes (one-click VLAN mode) • CCTV mode: yes • PD-Alive function: yes • Power supply: integrated • Mains voltage: 100 – 240 V AC • Mains frequency: 50 / 60 Hz • Power consumption (without PoE load): 11.1 W at 115 V / 10.1 W at 230 V • Max. power consumption: 390 W • Mounting: suitable for 19-inch rack or desktop Explanation of used terms and standards • Fast Ethernet: Ethernet technology with a maximum data speed of 100 Mbit/s per port. • Unmanaged: The switch operates without configuration and has no management interface. • Power over Ethernet (PoE): Technology where electrical power is supplied along with data via an Ethernet cable. • IEEE 802.3af: PoE standard with a maximum available power of up to 15.4 W per port at the source side. • IEEE 802.3at (PoE+): Extension of 802.3af with a maximum power of up to 30 W per port at the source side. • PoE Mode A: Power method where voltage is supplied via data pairs 1/2 and 3/6 of the Ethernet cable. • Store-and-forward: Switching method where a data packet is fully received and checked before being forwarded. • Non-blocking forwarding: Property where all ports can communicate simultaneously without mutual blocking. • Non-head-of-line forwarding: Prevents one delayed data packet from holding up other packets. • Auto-negotiation: Automatic negotiation of speed and duplex mode between network devices. • Half/full duplex: Communication mode where data is transmitted in one direction (half) or simultaneously in both directions (full). • Auto MDI/MDI-X: Automatic detection of cable type, eliminating the need for a special crossover cable. • MAC address table: Internal table in which network addresses of connected devices are stored for fast forwarding. • VLAN: Virtual local area network that allows network traffic to be logically separated within one physical switch. • CCTV mode: Operating mode intended to allow network equipment for camera applications to function separately. • PD-Alive: Function that checks if a PoE device is still responding and automatically restarts the device in case of failure. • SFP: Replaceable transceiver module for fiber optic or copper connections. • IEC 60297: Standard that defines the dimensions of 19-inch racks and associated components.
