Medlars

The taste of medlars is a pleasant combination of peach, apricot and citrus — fresh, slightly sour and of course sweet. They are rich in it vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, fiber and antioxidants, making them a nutritious and healthy fruit choice.

Medlars are delicious eaten fresh as a snack, but are also processed into yum, jelly, compote, fruit juices and desserts. In Mediterranean cuisine they are also used in savory dishes and chutneys. The leaves are used in some cultures to make herbal teas.
