Safety advice warning: UV rays are dangerous in mind and skin. The UV-C emitter may not be operated if it has been removed from the device's housing! Careful: This device contains a UV-C emitter! Unintended use of the device or damage to the housing can lead to the emission of dangerous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation can also cause damage to eyes and skin in small amounts. • The power supply must meet the product specifications. Do not connect the device if the power supply does not meet the specified standards! Further information can be obtained from your local, approved electrician. • The UBBink UV-C device may only be operated via an earth leakage switch (Fi switch / RCD) with a nominal fault current of no more than 30 mA. For more information you can contact your specialist electrical trader. • The UBBink UV-C device may only be switched on after all components and hose connections have been fully installed. The device may not be used in water under any circumstances and must be installed next to the pond so that flood is excluded. • The operation of the UV-C lamp must only be checked by visual inspection by the transparent hose connection. Direct contact with the UV-C rays can cause injury to eyes and/or skin. • No transparent hoses may be used to use the UV-C device. We recommend using our black spiral pegs. Furthermore, the inlet and exhaust hoses must be secured with hose clamps to unintentionally prevent the hose connection. • The device must be installed at more than 2 m distance from the pond or water bowl and the socket. • To prevent overheating of the UV-C lamp, the UV-C device may only be switched on if water flows through the housing. Never turn the UV-C lamp outside the housing! • The device may only be used at a water temperature from +5 ° C to +35 ° C. • It is essential to read the instructions before the UV-C device is opened. • The power supply to the UV-C device must first be switched off before the device is opened (eg for the first mounting, cleaning, installation and replacement of the UV-C lamp). • The power supply cable cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged, the UV-C device must be thrown away. • The device may be used by children from the age of 8 and by people with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or without the correct knowledge and experience, provided they are under supervision or instructed to understand the use of the device and the resulting dangers. Children are not allowed to play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance may not be carried out by children without supervision. • Keep children away from packaging material and small parts. There is a risk of suffocation! NB! For each intervention (first assembly, cleaning, installation and replacement of the UV-C lamp, etc.), the power supply of the UV-C device must always be interrupted! 1. Determine the location for the UV-C device by taking into account the distance to the pond pump and any existing or planned pond filter. For example, if there is a waterfall, the UV-C device can also be connected to a higher location, so that the UV-C-Ralized Water can flow back into the pond via the waterfall. 2. Place the UVC lamp before starting the device, as described on page 2 of this manual: a) Remove the screw cap and remove it from the housing (Fig. 1.1 and 1.2) b) click the UVC lamp in the fitting , Put the protective cap on the glass of the UVC lamp and mount the device again (Figs. 1.3-1.6) 3. Secure the UV-C device with stones so that the device is stable and cannot fall into the water. Assembly on a wooden board is also possible. 4. Attach both brackets with a clip closure to the UV-C device, postpone it by simply turning it so that it can be installed or confirmed horizontally or vertically later horizontally or vertically. 5. The universal hose couplings shorten according to the hose connections for inlet (pump) and exhaust (filter or return to the pond). 6. Screw the hose couplings to the inlet and exhaust connections. Handproof tightening is sufficient for a good seal. Tighting too tight can lead to the reverse effect or even damage to the UV-C device or the hose coupling. 7. Shorten the pond hose to the required lengths. Attach the hose with hose clamps to the hose couplings. With spiral pegs, it must be ensured that the hose clamps do not cut into the spiral winds and do not cause hairline cracks. If this does happen, the hose with the length of the damaged part shortens. Note: If it still drips from the connection between the hose and the hose coupling, you can stop this by wrapping commercially available Teflon tape around the hose coupling. 8. Before starting the UV-C device or:-the closing lid of the UV-C device is correctly screwed in,--the inlet and exhaust connections on the UV-C device are handproof,-the hose connections between Filter pump and pond filter or return to the pond are perfect,-the instructions for use of the UV-C device has been read and the safety advice has been followed. 9. After all this you can switch on the UV-C device in the following order:-Always first turn on the pond or filter pump and check that the pond water flows smoothly through the UV-C device and whether there may still be leaks . -Then switch on the UV-C device and check the operation of the UV-C emitter via the transparent hose connection. There is no direct danger; The dangerous UV-C radiation does not penetrate the material. 10. Switching off the installation, for example for maintenance, is always done in reverse order, i.e. always first switch off the UV-C device and then the garden or pond filter pump. NB! The power supply plug must always be pulled out first before any intervention is carried out (cleaning, installation and replacement of the UV-C lamp, etc.)! The UV-C device must be cleaned at least twice a year, depending on the pollution of the pond. If the algae growth in your pond increases again, the quarteric acid tube, in which the UV-C lamp is located, must be cleaned of dirt and lime deposits with a soft cloth that is steeped in a mild cleaning agent (such as vinegar solution). Avoid scratches on the quartz glass and, if possible, do not hold the glass tube directly with the hands. Even small traces of sweat and fat on the quartz glass will burn through the UV-C radiation in the quartz glass and later reduce the capacity of your UV-C device. The UV-C lamps installed in the UV-C device have a lifespan of approximately 5000 operating hours. After this operating time, the UV-C capacity has been reduced so far that the UV-C lamp must be replaced. Suitable reserve lamps are available at your Ubbink specialist. Perform maintenance on your UV-C device as follows: 1. Always first switch off the UV-C device and then only leave the filter pump. 2. Remove the hose connection and let the water run away from the UV-C device. 3. Then open the mounting clips and remove the UV-C device from the brackets. 4. Remove the glass and the lamp according to the drawings on page 2 of this manual. a) Remove the screw cap and remove it together with the lamp (Figs. 1.1 and 1.2). b) Carefully remove the glass ball using a 10 or 20-cent mint (Figs. 1.3a and 1.3b). 5. Clean the housing and replace the UVC lamp if necessary. 6. Mount everything again in reverse order. Pay attention to the correct placement of the seal rings inside. 7. Then put first the filter pump and then the UV-C device again.
