Features The "lightweight" ball bearing system provides significant weight and height savings The pedals are each equipped with integrated approved reflectors on two sides and a sealed bearing system Pedal type "2-component pedal", consisting of: a black Polypropylene spindle housing and cage (one piece) the extra-large "anti-slip" insert in the cage is made of a grey TPE (thermo-plastic-elastomer). Ball bearing Adjustable and lightweight ball bearing system, according to the "ball & cone" principle, on both sides With 14 x 3/32" ball bearings on both sides Axle Boron steel, heat-treated to 75HRA (+/-3) With 9/16"- 20 TPI thread Reflectors Integrated into the pedal cage Approved according to BS, JIS, TPP, as well as German StVZO standards Dimensions 222* x 90 x 27 mm (*length x width x height) *length = maximum mounted pedal length (part protruding beyond the crankset) Weight 364 gr/per set Standardization The pedal complies with ISO standards. ISO 4210-8: "Bicycles-Safety requirements for bicycles- Test methods for pedals and cranksets" SANDBLOCK Sandblock® is the official Marwi registered trademark for a patented composition of materials that forms a wear-resistant perfect anti-slip insert for pedals. The anti-slip function of the material is guaranteed, even when wet or contaminated with oil or grease. This anti-slip insert cannot be separated from the pedal due to a special, waterproof technology. The UNION SANDBLOCK® pedals have an extra-large anti-slip insert (thus more direct contact with the cyclist's shoe) and are specially designed for use on E-Bikes. The advantages of this high-quality SANDBLOCK® anti-slip insert are: A very good anti-slip function, much better than that of the usual TPR (rubber) insert Significantly more wear resistance compared to that of the usual TPR (rubber) insert The anti-slip function remains optimal, even when the surface of the material is wet or contaminated with oil or grease The SANDBLOCK® anti-slip surfaces are highly wear-resistant, water-resistant, and firmly connected to the robust polypropylene cage of the pedal via a new patented technology. Compared to the self-adhesive sandpaper versions of pedals used, this strong connection is waterproof and cannot be separated or removed from the pedal. Technical details and test results: Various laboratory tests prove that the SANDBLOCK® cannot be separated or removed from the pedal cage, even when tools are used The anti-slip function of the SANDBLOCK® performs much better than the standard anti-slip material made of sandpaper An anti-slip durability test shows that with a load of 30 kg and at 10,000 cycles, the material wears only 0.25 mm With a standard sandpaper insert, wear marks are already visible after 20 cycles. SANDBLOCK® does not The standard sandpaper insert can be very easily separated from the polypropylene pedal cage. This does not happen with SANDBLOCK® By using SANDBLOCK® material instead of TPR or standard sandpaper, these UNION pedals achieve an even higher level of safety for the cyclist in all weather conditions.
