Pokon Grass Seed Shade is ideal for the construction or restoration of a lawn that is in the shade. The grass seed can be used for recovery after the winter, for recovery after scarifying or for recovery of bare spots. The lawn will grow back quickly. In addition, the strong mixture ensures that the grass is resistant to foot traffic, and a full turf in the shade prevents moss. Instructions for use Sowing: Preparation: Beforehand dig up the soil well (+/- 30cm) and carefully remove all weeds with roots. Level the soil, let it settle, rake it flat and crush clods so that you have a flat seedbed. Sowing: For optimal germination it is important that the soil is not cold and that the outside temperature is higher than 15°C. Sow in moist soil in windless weather; if there has been no rain, water the soil first. Sow the perimeter/outer edges of the lawn first. Then sow the lawn twice, once across the length and once across the width. This way the grass seed is best distributed. Sow the grass seeds evenly and not too close together, as this hinders development. After sowing: Rake the grass seed lightly (+/- 0.5 - 1 cm) and roll or tamp lightly to bring the seed into good contact with the soil. Keep the soil moist for the first 2 to 4 weeks by watering evenly and carefully. If the top layer dries out, germination will fail or the small grass plants will die. Mow for the first time when the grass is approximately 8 to 10 cm long with a high-set, sharp mower. Restore: Preparation for repairing bare spots: Clear the bare spots of moss and weeds and rake the soil. Apply a layer of Pokon Lawn Soil and level it. Preparation for overseeding: Scarify the lawn or mow the grass as short as possible. Then apply a thin layer of Lawn Soil.
