PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller. These batteries are therefore intended to supply and continue to supply power to the memory of programmable devices or electrochemical processes. This includes automatic assembly machines, packaging machines, lighting systems, and material handling machines.

The most common is a Lithium Thionyl Chloride battery. This technology is excellent for applications with low power demand, and long lifespan is required. These batteries are available in 3V and 3.6V
