Bokashi means "fermented organic material". The Bokashi method in an airtight container is a super-fast acidification process using effective micro-organisms. What is not allowed in normal compost can also go in here: all food waste, raw or cooked, meat, fish, dairy products, salads. Just put it in! Simply sprinkle the supplied yeast over it to speed up the process. Sprinkle the finished Bokashi in the garden or store it in an airtight, cool and dark place. With the Bokashi kitchen bucket you can ferment your own kitchen waste at home. By mixing kitchen waste with a little Bokashi starter (which can also be purchased separately later), valuable organic material is created. The added Effective Micro-organisms in the Bokashi starter ensure that the fresh GFT waste present will ferment and therefore not rot. This set consists of 2 stackable Bokashi buckets. Fermenting instead of making compost! You can make your own GFT Bokashi from chopped kitchen waste and all other types of plant remains. With good fermentation, rot and stench have no chance. Preparation: 1 Cut the kitchen waste into pieces of approximately 5 x 5 cm. 2 Spread a small amount (20 ml) of Bokashi starter on the grid of the kitchen bucket. 3 Sprinkle a layer of approximately 5 cm of fresh kitchen waste in the bucket. 4 Spread another 20 ml Bokashi starter on the kitchen waste. 5 Press the kitchen waste firmly. 6 Close the Bokashi kitchen bucket (airtight) with the lid. 7 Repeat this process until the bucket is full. 8 Drain the collected liquid daily (after approximately one week). This liquid is suitable as food for houseplants and garden plants. Dilute the Bokashi juice 1/100 with water. Use the drained juice immediately, do not store. In the toilet and drain pipes it works preventively as a natural drain cleaner. 9 When the bucket is full, leave it alone for 2 weeks so that the top remains also start to ferment. 10 The Bokashi is ready when it has a pleasant sweet and sour smell. The kitchen waste has hardly changed in structure and appearance to the eye. 11 The remains can now be processed in the soil (in the compost heap it works as a compost accelerator). Dig a trench (approx. 15 cm deep) between the plants and keep a distance of 10-15 cm from the roots. Scoop the Bokashi in (approx. 1 kg per m2). Then cover with soil. Bokashi is now converted by the soil life. Earthworms also love it. Healthy and handy, because they are free gardeners! After processing Bokashi, wait two weeks before sowing and/or planting. Bokashi starter is a microbial catalyst for the fermentation process and contains Effective Micro-organisms. By spreading Bokashi starter in layers between the kitchen waste, the waste will not rot but ferment (upgrade). Handy: Bokashi starter can also be added to potting soil for (seedling) plants and flowers. Bokashi provides: Good nutrition for soil life. Detoxifying effect on the soil. Good living environment for micro-organisms. Faster availability of the absorbable nutrients for the plant. The Effective Micro-organisms present in Bokashi ensure: The production of all kinds of important bio-active substances, such as enzymes, natural antibiotics and growth hormones, vitamins and antioxidants. A shift to a constructive disease-suppressing soil. Greater microbial diversity and activity. Why ferment instead of composting? Ideal for people with a small garden, terrace, roof garden or balcony.
