Description

This fiber optic patch cable is intended for establishing short fiber optic connections between passive cabling ports and active network equipment within a structured cabling environment in accordance with ISO IEC 11801. The cable is designed as a duplex configuration with ST connectors on both sides and is suitable for multimode OM3 (50/125 µm) applications. The connection is an ST-ST fiber optic link for point-to-point connections or for connecting patch panels to active network ports. The LSZH jacket is halogen-free, low-smoke, and flame-retardant in accordance with IEC and EN standards. The cable is equipped with aramid strain relief for mechanical stability and long-term reliability. Explanation of OS categories (singlemode fiber optic) OS stands for Optical Singlemode and describes the attenuation class of singlemode optical fiber. • OS1 singlemode fiber for indoor installations with typical attenuation ≤ 1.0 dB/km at 1310 nm. • OS2 low water peak singlemode fiber in accordance with ITU-T G.652.D with typical attenuation ≤ 0.4 dB/km at 1310 nm and ≤ 0.3 dB/km at 1550 nm. General explanation of fiber optic cables • Fiber optic cables transmit data via light signals instead of electrical signals. • Singlemode fiber optic cable uses a single light path and is suitable for long distances. • Multimode fiber optic cable uses multiple light paths and is suitable for shorter distances within buildings. • Simplex single optical fiber for data transmission in one direction. • Duplex two optical fibers for simultaneous communication in both directions.
