Star fruit, also known as carambola, is a tropical fruit with a striking shape: when you cut the fruit into slices, star-shaped pieces are created. The skin is smooth and yellow-green to golden yellow when ripe. The flesh is juicy and has a fresh, sweet and sour taste, reminiscent of a mix of apple, grape and citrus.
