Our ingredients
To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give our kibble its delicious flavor and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry promote healthy muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide your dog with extra valuable nutrients, we've added super-healthy vegetables to our food. This means vegetables are not only nutritious but also offer other health benefits. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, providing your dog with all the essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be beneficial for your dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath and healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote your dog's overall health.
Spices
The healthy herbs that enrich our food are derived from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweed, among other things, goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Pug-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Pug. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Pug belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we selected ingredients that optimally benefit the Pug's health and well-being.
Fenugreek
Like peas, fenugreek is a plant in the legume family. It is also called fenugreek or "Greek hay." It originates from Mesopotamia and was already known in the Mediterranean region in ancient times. Today, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.
Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. It contains saponins and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. It also has anti-inflammatory properties (a natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.
We can add fenugreek to your food to prevent arthritis, asthma, and skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of fenugreek, and it supports healthy digestion.
Tomato
The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Smaller varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, the American government decided that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.
At Yourdog we use tomatoes at a culinary level, considering tomatoes as a vegetable.
Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fiber content, which aids digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives them their red color. The redder a tomato, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving tomatoes their red color, it's also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can protect against cancer and cardiovascular disease, among other things. Tomatoes also contain high levels of vitamin C, vitamins A, and B complex vitamins, which can contribute to healthy skin and a stronger immune system.
Tomatoes are added to our dog food because they may contribute positively to preventing breed-specific problems related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular disease. They can also have a general cleansing effect on the body.
Raspberries
The raspberry is a plant in the rose family and belongs to the Rubus genus. Raspberries have been cultivated since the Middle Ages and are native throughout Europe.
Raspberries contain many nutrients that can support your dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in beneficial fiber.
Raspberry is added to our dog food for its anti-inflammatory properties and can contribute positively to immune system function. Raspberries can also help maintain vision and a healthy cardiovascular system.
Puppy, adult or senior?
To help you choose the right pug food from our selection, you can use the following guidelines. If your pug is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy variety. For a pug over 7 years old, we recommend the Yourdog Pug Senior. If your dog is over 11 months old but under 7 years old, choose the Adult variety.
Taste guarantee
We're confident in the quality of our food. That's why we offer a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packages. If your Pug doesn't seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We'll help you analyze the problem. If we can't find a solution together, we'll refund your purchase price.

Switching advice
If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Pug dog food at your own discretion.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
