The UV-C emitter must not be operated if it has been removed from the device housing! CAUTION: This device contains a UV-C emitter! Unintended use of the device or damage to the housing can result in the emission of hazardous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation can also cause damage to eyes and skin in small quantities. • The power supply must comply with the product specifications. Do not connect the device if the power supply does not meet the specified standards! Further information can be obtained from your local, approved electrician. • The Ubbink UV-C device must only be operated via a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of no more than 30 mA. For more information, please contact your specialist electrical retailer. • The Ubbink UV-C device must only be switched on after all components and hose connections have been fully installed. The device must not be used in water under any circumstances and must be installed next to the pond to prevent flooding. • The functioning of the UV-C lamp should only be checked by visual inspection through the transparent hose connection. Direct contact with the UV-C rays can cause injury to the eyes and\/or skin. • Transparent hoses must not be used to operate the UV-C device. We recommend using our black spiral pond hose. Furthermore, the inlet and outlet hoses must be secured with hose clamps to prevent accidental disconnection of the hose connection. • The device must be installed more than 2 m away from the pond or water basin and the electrical outlet. • To prevent the UV-C lamp from overheating, the UV-C device must only be switched on when water is flowing through the housing. Never switch on the UV-C lamp outside of the housing! • The device must only be used at a water temperature of +5°C to +35°C. • It is essential to read the operating instructions before opening the UV-C device. • The power supply to the UV-C device must be switched off before opening the device (e.g., for initial assembly, cleaning, installation, and replacing the UV-C lamp). • The power supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged, the UV-C device must be discarded. • The device may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or who lack experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the use of the device and understand the associated hazards. Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision. • Keep children away from packaging materials and small parts. There is a risk of suffocation! CAUTION! Before any intervention (initial assembly, cleaning, installation, and replacement of the UV-C lamp, etc.), the power supply to the UV-C device must always be disconnected! 1. Determine the location for the UV-C device, taking into account the distance to the pond pump and any existing or planned pond filters. If there is a waterfall, for example, the UV-C device can be installed at a higher location so that the UV-C-irradiated water can flow back into the pond via the waterfall. 2. Before starting the device, position the UV-C lamp as described on page 2 of this manual: a) Remove the screw cap and remove it from the housing (Figs. 1.1 and 1.2). b) Click the UV-C lamp into the socket, place the protective cap over the glass of the UV-C lamp, and reassemble the device (Figs. 1.3 - 1.6). 3. Secure the UV-C device with stones to ensure stability and prevent it from falling into the water. Mounting it on a wooden board is also possible. 4. Attach both brackets to the UV-C device with a clip. Adjust it by simply turning it so that it can later be installed or secured horizontally or vertically. 5. Shorten the universal hose couplings according to the hose connections for the inlet (pump) and outlet (filter or return to the pond). 6. Screw the hose couplings onto the inlet and outlet connections. Hand-tightening is sufficient for a good seal. Overtightening can have the opposite effect or even damage the UV-C device or the hose coupling. 7. Shorten the pond hose to the required lengths. Secure the hose to the hose couplings with hose clamps. For spiral pond hoses, ensure that the hose clamps do not cut into the spiral coils or cause hairline cracks. If this does occur, shorten the hose by the length of the damaged section. Note: If dripping continues from the connection between the hose and the hose coupling, you can stop it by wrapping commercially available Teflon tape around the hose coupling. 8. Before starting the UV-C device, check that: - the lid of the UV-C device is properly screwed on, - the inlet and outlet connections on the UV-C device are hand-tight, - the hose connections between the filter pump and the pond filter or the return line to the pond are secure, - the UV-C device's operating instructions have been read and the safety advice has been followed. 9. After this, you can switch on the UV-C device in the following order: - Always switch on the pond or filter pump first and check that the pond water flows smoothly through the UV-C device and whether there are any leaks. - Then switch on the UV-C device and check the operation of the UV-C emitter via the transparent hose connection. There is no immediate danger; the dangerous UV-C radiation does not penetrate the material. 10. Switching off the device, for example for maintenance, is done in the reverse order, i.e., always switch off the UV-C device first and then the garden or pond filter pump. CAUTION! The power supply plug must always be unplugged before carrying out any work (cleaning, installing, and replacing the UV-C lamp, etc.)! The UV-C device should be cleaned at least twice a year, depending on the pond's level of pollution. If algae growth in your pond increases again, the quartz tube containing the UV-C lamp should be cleaned of dirt and limescale with a soft cloth soaked in a mild cleaning agent (such as vinegar solution). Avoid scratching the quartz glass and, if possible, avoid touching the glass tube directly with your hands. Even small traces of sweat and grease on the quartz glass will be burned into the quartz glass by the UV-C radiation and will subsequently reduce the performance of your UV-C device. The UV-C lamps installed in the UV-C device have a lifespan of approximately 5,000 operating hours. After this operating time, the UV-C performance will be reduced to the point that the UV-C lamp must be replaced. Suitable replacement lamps are available from your Ubbink specialist. Perform maintenance on your UV-C device as follows: 1. Always turn off the UV-C device first and then the filter pump. 2. Remove the hose connection and drain the water from the UV-C device. 3. Then open the mounting clips and remove the UV-C device from the brackets. 4. Remove the glass and the lamp according to the drawings on page 2 of this manual. a) Remove the screw cap and remove it along with the lamp (Figs. 1.1 and 1.2). b) Carefully remove the glass bulb using a 10- or 20-cent coin (Figs. 1.3A and 1.3B). 5. Clean the housing and replace the UV-C lamp if necessary. 6. Reassemble everything in reverse order, paying attention to the correct placement of the sealing rings inside. 7. Then turn the filter pump back on first and then the UV-C device.","brand":"Ubbink","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":48783963586879,"sku":"8711465559669","price":160.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0841\/3478\/9439\/files\/1200x1200_1e3ae45a-e6b1-4c30-8592-d3da28674a63.jpg?v=1782831335","url":"https:\/\/tormino.com\/products\/ubbink-filtrapure-plus-set-2000-bank-filter-filter-system","provider":"Tormino","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
