This hydraulic disc brake system is easy to install, adjust, and maintain. It comes without a brake disc and features an aluminum lever and a cast aluminum bracket. The HD-M285 version has a reach of 86-90 mm, while the HD-M286 has a reach of 81-85 mm. The caliper has a forged aluminum body and utilizes automatic caliper positioning via front and rear adapters. The caliper, pads, and fluid have a black finish. The caliper uses E10.11 pads (organic compound) that are easy to replace. A Metal Ceramic Compound is also available as an option. The system uses a liquid, non-corrosive mineral oil and has excellent heat expansion properties. The caliper weighs 285 grams for the front and 305 grams for the rear.
