The wattage is the energy consumption of the lamp. The wattage is the consumption per hour. A 60W lamp that is on for 10 hours therefore consumes 60 x 10 = 600 Watt-hours. What are lumens (lm)? Lumens are a unit of light output. The higher the number of lumens, the more light the lamp emits. This has nothing to do with the color of the light. To compare lamps, it is best to compare the number of lumens. The higher the number of lumens, the higher the amount of light.
