This digital audio converter is designed to convert an analog stereo audio signal into a digital audio signal via TosLink (optical) or S/PDIF coaxial (RCA). The device features 2x RCA female (RCA) inputs for connecting an analog audio source such as an MP3 player, smartphone, CD player, or other line-level audio source. The analog stereo signal is internally converted to a digital PCM audio signal that can be forwarded via the optical TosLink output or via the coaxial S/PDIF RCA output. The converter supports a maximum sample rate of 16-bit / 48 kHz, which is suitable for standard digital audio transmission to amplifiers, receivers, and other audio equipment. The housing is made of a metal construction for extra durability and protection against interference. The device is powered by a 5 V DC power adapter with a standard 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC connector.
