Use with water on the wet skin of root vegetables, applying gentle pressure to loosen soil. To keep fresh between uses, rinse well and squeeze excess water from the cotton string and hang to dry. The loofah plant is a vigorous growing plant from the cucumber family that is rich in durable fibers yet remains soft and flexible. When ripe, the interior of the loofah fruit develops a network of fibers perfect for cleaning and exfoliating when dried. Our loofahs are harvested, peeled, seeded, dried, cut into lengths, and hand-processed in Egypt. This processing method is a natural tradition passed down through generations.
