The Kendama consists of 2 parts, the ball and a handle. The ball is called a "tama" and has a hole so it can be caught on the spike. The ball is connected to the handle by a string. The ken is made up of 2 parts: the base handle and the part called the 'sara'. The ken has cups in 3 sizes. A large one, a small cup on the sara, and an even larger cup at the base of the ken. You can use all of these to catch the tama.
