This adapter is designed for connecting an optical audio cable via a right-angle TosLink connection. The adapter features a TosLink male (90°) connector on one side and a TosLink female connection on the other. This allows an optical TosLink cable to be connected at a right angle to audio equipment with a TosLink (optical S/PDIF) connection. A right-angle adapter can be used when there is limited space behind audio equipment or when the cable cannot be routed straight back. Optical audio cables transmit the audio signal via light pulses and are therefore immune to electromagnetic interference.
