ABEC 3: A standard value used to measure the surface tolerance of roller bearings. There are five classes: 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. The higher the ABEC class, the greater the precision, efficiency, and speed capacity, but the highest ABEC classes are not necessarily the fastest rotating components. All quality manufacturers worldwide use at least ABEC 1 as a standard. At Enduro, the minimum standard is ABEC 3. ABEC 3: Steel balls Grade 10. Rather than a single "lip" of a thick seal rubbing against an uneven surface, the LLB type uses 2 lips of seals, thin as a razor blade, that slide into a notch with light contact. The outer "lip" keeps water and impurities out, while the inner seal retains grease for smooth rotation and long intervals between maintenance.
