For 1 liter EM-Active you need the following: EM-1 – 1 part – (50 cl) Cane sugar molasses – 1 part – (50 cl) Water – 20 parts – (900 cl) An airlock pH indicator strip 1 liter PET bottle (e.g. old spa bottle) Heating To make EM-Active (activated EM) from EM-1 (the EM mother culture), proceed as follows: 1. Put the molasses in the PET bottle and mix it with 1\/2 liter of hot water. 2. Stir well, so that all the molasses dissolves. 3. Then add 50 cl EM-1. Stir this well as well, so that everything mixes well. 4. Finally, fill the barrel with tap water. With this you have made a mixture of 5% EM-1, 5% molasses and 90% water. 5. Close the bottle with the airlock. Fill the airlock with water (so that oxygen cannot get in and CO2 cannot escape). 6. Place the bottle near a heater (32°C, which is the ideal temperature).
