Description

This coaxial tap is designed for tapping a coaxial signal within a coaxial installation. With this 2-way TV tap, part of the signal can be branched off to connected equipment while the main signal can be passed on via the loop-through connection. This type of component is often used in larger coaxial installations or distribution networks. The tap is equipped with F-connector female connections. The component has one input and two outputs, allowing the signal to be distributed to multiple coaxial connections within the installation. With a frequency range of 5 – 1218 MHz, this tap is suitable for modern cable networks. This means the product can be used for television, radio, and data signals via coaxial installations. The component is also 1.2 GHz ready and prepared for networks using DOCSIS 3.1 technology. The tap outputs have a tap attenuation of 16 dB, while the loop-through connection has only approximately 1 dB signal loss. This ensures that the main signal remains strong enough for further distribution within the network. The tap has a high shielding class and features 4G/LTE interference suppression, which limits interference from mobile networks. In addition, the element is return path enabled, allowing two-way traffic of data signals for cable internet. The housing is made of die-cast zinc and provided with an earthing connection, ensuring stable operation and good protection against external interference. F-connector An F-connector is a coaxial connector widely used in cable networks and broadband coaxial installations. Tap A tap is used to branch off part of a coaxial signal to a device while the main signal continues through the installation. Frequency range The frequency range indicates which signal frequencies can be passed through by a device. Tap attenuation Tap attenuation indicates how much signal is attenuated at the tap outputs. Loop-through attenuation Loop-through attenuation indicates how much signal loss occurs when the signal is looped through via the main connection to a next device. Return path enabled Return path enabled means that the device is suitable for two-way traffic of data signals, such as with cable internet. DOCSIS 3.1 DOCSIS 3.1 is a technology for cable internet that enables higher data speeds via coaxial networks. Ask a product question
