HDMI™ to SCART Converter – 1-way – with amplifier This HDMI™ to SCART converter is designed to convert a digital HDMI signal to an analog SCART output. This allows a modern HDMI source device to be connected to older equipment with a SCART input, such as televisions or projectors. The conversion of video and audio takes place entirely within the device. Signal direction (important) The signal direction is fixed and unidirectional: HDMI source → converter → SCART device. Use in the reverse direction (SCART to HDMI) is not possible. Input The converter has 1x HDMI female as input. The digital audio and video signal from the source device is supplied via this connection. Output The output consists of 1x SCART female. The converted analog video and audio signal is transmitted to the connected SCART device via this connection. Image and video processing The HDMI input accepts video signals up to 1920 × 1080 @ 60 Hz. The signal is internally converted to an analog SCART signal at SD level (480i / 576i), matching the SCART standard. RGB signal output via SCART is not supported. Audio The digital audio signal from the HDMI source is internally converted to analog stereo audio and transmitted along with the video signal via the SCART output. Signal amplification The converter features a built-in amplifier function to keep the analog output signal stable when converting from digital to analog. Power supply The device is powered via 5 V DC with the included power cable (USB-A). External power supply is required for correct signal conversion. The maximum power consumption is 3 W. Design The housing is made of plastic and comes in black. An LED indicator shows when the device is active.
