Another application is connecting an audio source with an RCA connection to the DIN connection of a recording device. The 5-pin DIN connection is typically used for two stereo signals, making the use of this cabling particularly convenient when connecting a tape deck or stereo cassette player. One stereo channel is used for recording and the other stereo channel is used for playback. Usage The cable is suitable for analog audio transmission and is not suitable as a (digital) MIDI cable. Using the RCA connector is simple; you insert the male RCA plug of an RCA cable into the connector and the connection is ready. Connecting a device with a DIN cable requires some dexterity. The connector only fits into the chassis socket in one way. This effectively prevents you from inserting the plug incorrectly into the chassis socket, thus preventing damage to the pins in the plug.
