This expansion card is designed to add multiple serial connections to a desktop PC via a PCI Express slot. The card is inserted into a free PCI Express x1 slot and adds four external RS-232 serial ports with DB9 male connectors. This allows serial devices such as scanners, protocol converters, and IoT devices that communicate via the RS-232 standard to be connected.
