Description

This FAKRA to SMA adapter is designed for connecting RF components within radio frequency installations. The adapter is used to connect equipment with a FAKRA connection to equipment that uses an SMA connection. The adapter has a FAKRA Z plug (male) on one side and an SMA plug (male) on the other side. The FAKRA connector is designed in the FAKRA Z color coding (water blue / RAL 5021) according to the standard FAKRA types. The adapter is constructed from a gold-plated phosphor bronze contact pin, a PTFE insulator, and a nickel-plated beryllium retaining ring. The plastic outer casing is made of PA66. These materials ensure good electrical properties and a reliable connection for RF signals. Specifications • Product type RF adapter • Brand Delock • Connection 1 FAKRA Z plug (male) • Connection 2 SMA plug (male) • FAKRA type Z (water blue) • Impedance 50 ohm • Contact material Phosphor bronze, gold-plated • Insulator PTFE • Retaining ring Beryllium, nickel-plated • Plastic housing PA66 • Dimensions approx. 33.0 × 11.0 × 9.5 mm Explanation of terms used PTFE PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is an electrically insulating material often used in RF connectors. The material has good electrical properties and remains stable at high frequencies. PA66 PA66 (polyamide 66) is an engineered plastic often used for connector housings. The material is strong, wear-resistant, and suitable for applications in electronic and automotive systems. Phosphor bronze Phosphor bronze is a copper alloy with good electrical conductivity and high resilience. This makes it often used for contact pins in RF connectors. SMA SMA stands for SubMiniature version A and is a screw-on coaxial connector for radio frequency connections. SMA connectors are used in RF equipment, antennas, test equipment, and wireless communication systems. FAKRA Z FAKRA Z is a variant of the FAKRA coax connector with a water blue color coding. This version has a universal mechanical key and can be used when no specific FAKRA coding is required. FAKRA FAKRA connectors are coaxial RF connectors used for radio frequency connections. The connector is based on the SMB coax standard but has a plastic housing with mechanical and color coding. This prevents different connectors from being accidentally connected. FAKRA connectors typically operate with an impedance of 50 ohms and support frequencies up to several GHz. They are used in antenna and communication systems such as GPS, radio, LTE, and 5G antennas. FAKRA types • FAKRA A – black – RF connection / radio • FAKRA B – cream – GSM / telematics • FAKRA C – blue – GPS antenna • FAKRA D – burgundy / purple – satellite radio • FAKRA E – green – GSM / LTE • FAKRA F – brown – RF communication • FAKRA G – grey – radio / RF signal • FAKRA H – violet – video / camera systems • FAKRA I – beige – radio antenna • FAKRA K – yellow / curry – RF communication • FAKRA L – red – RF communication • FAKRA M – orange – digital radio / DAB • FAKRA Z – water blue – universal key coding Ask a product question
