This Gigabit Ethernet media converter is an active network device that converts a copper-based Ethernet connection to a fiber optic connection and vice versa. The device is used to extend a network segment via fiber optic cable when longer distances or electrical isolation are required. The converter features an SFP slot for an optional 1 Gb/s SFP module and an RJ45 10/100/1000Base-T port. The maximum transmission speed is 1 Gb/s.
