USB Type-C™ to HDMI adapter – DisplayPort Alt Mode – HDMI™ 2.0 – 4K@60Hz This adapter is designed for connecting an HDMI monitor or projector to a computer with a USB Type-C™ port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode. The video signal is converted directly from the USB-C™ port to HDMI via DisplayPort Alt Mode. The adapter can also be used with Thunderbolt™ 3 ports, which support DisplayPort signals via USB-C™. Host Port Requirements The USB Type-C™ port of the host device must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode. Use with Thunderbolt™ 3 is also possible. Without DisplayPort Alt Mode, video display is not possible. USB Version USB 3.2 Gen 1×1. The USB connection is used for power and configuration; the video signal itself is transmitted via DisplayPort Alt Mode and not via USB data transmission. Operation The DisplayPort signal from the host is routed via DisplayPort Alt Mode over the USB Type-C™ or Thunderbolt™ connection. The integrated ST + Parade PS176 chipset converts this signal to HDMI™ in hardware.
