Our ingredients

To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Irish Setter. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Irish Setter belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Irish Setter.

Mango

Mango belongs to the Mangifera genus and likely originates from northeastern India and Southeast Asia. It is a drupe with varying shapes and grows on a tree that can reach a height of 40 meters.

This delicious summer treat is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, B6, C, and E, and is rich in potassium, beta-carotene, and alpha-carotene. Mango also contains plenty of healthy fiber, which helps strengthen the immune system and digestion. The natural antioxidant vitamin C helps support vital bodily functions. Root

The carrot as we know it today, also known as the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originated in Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. For example, carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. This is important for building capillaries and maintaining the health of all cells. The fiber in carrots contributes to a dog's digestion. Furthermore, carrots are low in calories and good for their coat and skin.

Raspberries

The raspberry is a plant in the rose family and belongs to the Rubus genus. Raspberries have been cultivated since the Middle Ages and are native throughout Europe.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Irish Setter dog food options, you can use the following guidelines. If your Irish Setter is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy variety. For an Irish Setter over 7 years old, we recommend the Yourdog Irish Setter Senior. If your dog is over 11 months old but under 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variety.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Irish Setter dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
