Donuts are sweet, fried pastries that are usually round with a hole in the middle, although there are also filled varieties without a hole. They are often finished with icing, chocolate, sugar or toppings such as sprinkles. Donuts are soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside, and come in many flavors and styles. They are often eaten as a snack, breakfast or treat with coffee or tea.
