Schuiltent Buteo Mark III Riet is the perfect single hiding for nature and bird photography. The Buteo Mark III is the latest version of our single shelter. We have looked extensively at points for improvement and listened carefully to the feedback from many users and our ambassadors of these hiding tents. Thanks to some smart applications, the Buteo Mark III is much better resistant to precipitation, you keep perfectly dry in 'bad' weather conditions and has better photo and viewing windows.

The tent on the outside

• Due to smarter applications, the tent is much better against precipitation file:
• An additional 'shelter' has been applied to the front, which prevents precipitation from entering the insect network, and will also protect your objectively against precipitation. In addition to protection against precipitation, this hood also works as a lens hood, the photo window with your objective will get more in the shade and therefore less standing out. This shelter can be folded if desired if you are not used or not necessary. If you leave the tent for a longer period, it is also useful because your tent then stands out less, and the tent is also less sensitive to wind.
• Better roof construction with small fiberglass sticks, so that no more water remains on the roof.
• 8 pegs: longer, wider and stronger than previous versions. 18 cm. long, black aluminum, triangular in shape.
• The use of (thick) strings on all runners of the zippers, and omitting Velcro prevents annoying sounds.
• All windows are lockable with a zipper, there are no more windows where water can easily enter.

The tent on the inside

• All windows and insect nets can also be operated with zippers from the inside.
• Strings, storage compartments and compartments for sticks in the tent have brighter colors, so that they are clearly visible in the dark.
• Extra fiberglass sticks on the inside of the roof, so that it stands around and the water runs off.
• Label with instructions.

Photo and viewing windows

• All photo windows are much more spacious than before, namely 40x36 cm. (BXH) The photo windows are also viewing windows (upper part window), and are therefore much wider than was the case in the Buteo Mark II. So there are no more separate, small viewing windows present as in the previous version.
• By using a zipper that can be operated on 2 sides you can make the viewing window larger or smaller to your own taste.
• All windows are completely lockable with high quality zippers so that they can be closed watertight. (to be operated from inside and out).
• No more Velcro has been used, so no more unpleasant sounds.
• The insect nets in the photo vestters are attached to the tent fabric with a zipper, to zip it completely if you wish or if you want to get in a snoot in it as an alternative photo window.
• These insect nets consist of 2 parts that overlap each other in the middle, equipped with an elastic so that they enclose your lens well.
• The insect nets are alternately executed vertically or horizontally: the advantage of vertical is that there is more margin in height, so you can still vary with the height of your lens. This margin is also useful for larger or smaller people. Insect nets on the front are executed vertically. The advantage of horizontal is that photography and filming can be a little easier to the right/left swing. Insect nets on the left and right side are performed horizontally.
• Photovers at 3 changing heights, spread over 3 sides.
• In rainy weather it is even possible to close the outer fabric of the photo starters, and to close it by means of a zipper in the middle around your lens, so that the tent is close, but you can still photograph.
• The sides that you do not use to photograph can be used as a viewing window by partially opening the zipper, again as desired large or small.

Carrier bag

• The carrying strap of the carrying case/fedal is longer (but adjustable), making it easier to wear.
• Separate compartment on top of the carrying case for accessories such as pegs, guy lines etc.

Photographing from the tent

The spacious entrance has a high -quality zipper, if opened, hangs nicely on the side and is also equipped with an insect mesh in the same camouflage print. The tent with the door (slightly) opened is therefore still perfectly camouflaged. Once in the tent you can see that it is very dark due to the black coating on the inside. However, the strings on the zippers and the edges of the storage compartment and 'tunnels' for the fiberglass sticks in the roof are more striking, so that they can still be seen in the dark.
The photo and viewing windows are provided at 3 different levels: 2 at the front (eye level and low level), you will find it at a slightly lower level than at the front. The photovers are equipped with an insect network, which consist of 2 parts that overlap in the middle, equipped with an elastic so that they can easily enclose your objectively. In the rain it is possible to close the outer fabric, and sticking your lens through a zipper opening. As a result, you can still photograph, but you and your equipment are maximum protected against weather and wind.
All insect nets in these windows can be partially (or completely) zipped away. This makes the viewing window to be adjusted to size as desired. These viewing windows are wide, so you have a perfect view to the outside. On the left and right side you will find the same options to keep a good view there too. A smaller viewing window is provided in the door at the rear, which can be closed watertight.
The tent has enough space for your chair, your tripod with camera/lens and a photo back bag or bag. At the front you will find a storage compartment where you can store small things.
