The Aquila Mark III is the latest version of our double shelter. We have looked extensively at points for improvement and listened carefully to the feedback from many users and our ambassadors of these hiding tents. Thanks to some smart applications, the Aquila Mark III is much more resistant to precipitation, you keep perfectly dry in 'bad' weather conditions and has better photo and viewing windows.

The tent on the outside

• Due to smarter applications, the tent is much better against precipitation file:
• An extra 'shelter' has been applied to 3 sides, which prevent precipitation from entering the insect network, and will also protect your objectively against precipitation.
  In addition to protection against precipitation, this hood also works as a lens hood, the photo window with your objective will get more in the shade and therefore less standing out.
  These shelters can all be folded if you do not use them or when they are not needed. If you leave the tent for a longer period, it is also useful because your tent stands out less, and the tent is also less sensitive to wind.
• Due to the improved construction with longer sticks that run until the bottom, the tent retains its shape better.
• 8 pegs: longer, wider and stronger than previous versions. 18 cm. long, black aluminum, triangular in shape.
• The use of (thick) strings on all runners of the zippers, and omitting Velcro prevents annoying sounds.
• All windows are lockable with a zipper, there are no more windows where water can easily enter.

The tent on the inside

• All windows and insect nets can also be operated with zippers from the inside.
• Strings and 'tunnels' inside the tent are made of brighter colors to be able to see well in the dark.
• Label with instructions.

Photo and viewing windows

• All photo windows are much more spacious than before, namely 40x36 cm. (BXH) The photo windows are also viewing windows (upper part window), and are therefore much wider than was the case in the Buteo Mark II. So there are no more separate, small viewing windows present as in the previous version. By using a zipper that can be operated on 2 sides (left/right) you can make the viewing window larger or smaller to your own taste.
• On the left is a wide window available, perfect for filmmakers or if you need more space.
  An additional photo window is available in this wider window (the same size as all other photo riders).
• All windows are completely lockable with high quality zippers so that they can be closed watertight. (to be operated from inside and out).
• No more Velcro has been used, so no more unpleasant sounds.
• The insect nets in the windows consist of 2 parts that overlap each other in the middle, equipped with an elastic so that they enclose your objectively well.
• These insect nets are attached to the tent fabric with a zipper, to be completely open to zip if you wish or if you want to get in a snoot in it as an alternative photo drivers (see description Snoot below).
• The insect nets are alternately executed vertically or horizontally. The advantage of vertical is that there is more margin in height, so you can still vary with the height of your lens. This margin is also useful for larger or smaller people. Insect nets on the front and on the right are performed vertically.
  The advantage of horizontal is that it is especially easier for filmmakers to go to the right/left. Insect nets on the left are performed horizontally.
• Photovers at 3 changing heights, spread over 3 sides. You can find a large photo window (ao perfect for filmmakers) on the left.
• In rainy weather it is even possible to close the outer fabric of the photo windows, and to close by means of a zipper in the middle around your lens, so that the tent is closed well, but you can still photograph (see also photos).
• The sides that you do not use to photograph can be used as a viewing window by partially opening the zipper, again as desired large or small.

Carrier bag

• The carrying strap of the carrying case/fedal is longer (but adjustable), making it easier to wear.
• Separate compartment on top of the carrying case for accessories such as pegs, guy lines etc.

Photographing from the tent

The spacious entrance has a high -quality zipper, if opened, hangs nicely on the side and is also equipped with an insect mesh in the same camouflage print. The tent with the door (slightly) opened is therefore still perfectly camouflaged.
Once in the tent you can see that it is very dark due to the black coating on the inside. However, the strings on the zippers and the edges of the storage compartment and 'tunnels' for the fiberglass sticks in the roof are more striking, so that they can still be seen in the dark.

The photo and viewing windows are provided for 3 different levels:
Two photo styles on the front, at 87 cm. (middle photo window).
On the left you will find a wider panorama window with an insect network at eye level, an extra 'normal' photo volley is provided in this wider window. This panorama window is very suitable for filmmakers.
Bottom left is one photo volley, if you want to photograph on Low-Level, at 36 cm. (middle photo window).
On the right you will find photovers at eye level, at 75 cm. (middle photo window).
The photovers are equipped with an insect network, which consist of 2 parts that overlap in the middle, equipped with an elastic so that they can easily enclose your objectively. In the rain it is possible to close the outer fabric, and sticking your lens through a zipper opening. As a result, you can still photograph, but you and your equipment are maximum protected against weather and wind.
All insect nets in these windows can be raced in part or completely. This makes the viewing window to be adjusted to size as desired. These viewing windows are wide, so you have a perfect view to the outside. On the left and right side you will find the same options to keep a good view there too. A smaller viewing window is provided in the door at the rear, which can be closed watertight.
The tent has enough space for chairs, stands with camera/lens and photo mugs or bags. At the front you will find a storage compartment where you can store small things.
